Hitachi C12RSH2 Review

Hitachi C12RSH2 Review will give you a closer look at this affordable and amazing miter saw.

In 2016, Hitachi introduced the Hitachi C12RSH2. Since then, this multifunctional tool has become one of their most desirable miter saws on the market.

Yet, there are still some downsides to this machine that I would like to see improvements.

Who Should Buy This Miter Saw?

In this Hitachi C12RSH2 Review, you will find out whether this tool is useful to you or not.

After a few weeks of using the saw, surprisingly, I discovered that the saw is suitable for everyone. With a double bevel blade and large cutting capacity, it is designed for both professionals and beginners.

12 Inch Dual-Bevel Blade

Hitachi C12RSH2 Review

With a dual bevel, the miter saw can tilt by 45 degrees in both directions. You won’t have to waste time flipping the board over and over to deal with different edges of a board.

This right miter can adjust to the maximum of 57 degrees, allowing you to perform deeper cuts even when it comes to dealing with non-square walls.

Thanks to the 12-inch blade and a large capacity, this saw can easily cut a 12,25-inch-wide board at 90 degrees or an 8-inch-wide board at 45 degrees.

And that is a great number, making this saw be one of the best when it comes to cutting capability.

With those cutting capabilities, whether you are a DIY woodworker or a professional, Hitachi C12RSH2 is a great choice.

Compact Sliding System

The sliding system is what set this saw apart from other competitors. As the system is compact enough, it allows you to place the saw directly against the wall without interfering with your work.

So, for those who don’t want their miter saw to take too much space, Hitachi C12RSH2 is the way to go.

Motor Speed

This Hitachi’s saw is perfect for doing tough jobs on construction sites since the tool can generate as much as 4,000 RPM of speed with its 15 amp motor.

Vertical Handle

There is one more thing about the tool that could satisfy you, which is the vertical handle. For some people, this might not bother them that much.

But for those who are new to woodworking (me included), the vertical handle would be a great help.

After a few weeks of cutting boards with the saw, I realize that it makes the cutting motion more natural and effortless.

What Needs Improvement?

Major Errors

Hitachi C12RSH2 miter saw is one of the most useful tools I have ever come across. However, there are some limitations to it.

The saw seems slightly flimsy to me, as if it could be broken if I dropped it. For that reason, it feels insecure and unsafe when used for tough cutting jobs.

Minor Errors

Besides, there are two small errors that I hope the manufacturer will improve in the near future.

The first thing is the weight. For the weight of 59 pounds, you will find it hard to carry this miter saw around on job sites.

The second thing is the machine’s dust collection performance. The saw does come with a port at the back of the blade for dust collection.

However,  it isn’t as useful as it should. So if you want to collect all the dust, you may want to prepare a vacuum or a box around the tool.

Hitachi C12RSH2 Alternatives

As the Hitachi’s saw is too heavy and too feeble for many people, DWS780 and Makita XSL02Z are some of the best alternatives you can choose.

DWS780 miter saw, one of the best sellers of Dewalt, is easy to use and affordable. It is also more solid than the Hitachi’s tool.

Besides, the ability to perform a variety of tasks and projects makes the saw an ideal tool for occasional users and professional contractors alike.

At the same price as the C12RSH2, the Makita XSL02Z will please you with an impressively fast cutting speed of 5700 rpm and a weight of only 28.8 pounds.
