DHS790T2 Review will give you fully detailed information of the saw’s important features and also its shortcomings.
In 2016, DeWalt launched the DHS790T2 with great functions. Not only can it handle any cut, but also the saw has a massive capacity that no miter saw can compare. Yet, it is a pity that the tool is slightly heavier than others when carrying it with you.
Who should buy this miter saw?
With this DHS790T2 Review, you will have the chance to know whether this saw is suitable for you.
Combining the pros of the saw’s predecessors and some advanced innovations, DeWalt Industrial Tool Company created the DHS790T2 miter saw, which is cordless and has a large cutting capacity. Therefore, it is built and designed for construction sites, particularly engineers and carpenters.
A cordless and massive-capacity tool
It is not convenient when you have to drag corded tools everywhere on a job site. But with a cordless one, the DeWalt’s miter saw, I can finally work on a fully cordless job site without hesitance.
The tool is cordless, so DeWalt Company equipped it with two batteries. But that is not some common batteries that can be assembled to any tools. It is the latest version of DeWalt’s battery using their most advanced technology, Flexvolt Technology, which allows the miter saw’s battery to change its voltage automatically. In other words, the Flexvolt battery can run with 60 volts to produce 120 volts to power the equipment. Not only does the battery power the tool, but it also improves the run-time of it. Thus, the capacity of the saw increases magnificently.
As a result, in comparison with other corded, massive-capacity ones, this tool is no different. For this feature, it is definitely, one of the most suitable miter saws for construction sites and professionals.
A double bevel and dual-rail slide system blade
Another special thing about this saw is its amazing blade. For the 12’’ double-rail slide blade, the DHS790T2 can cut a 16’’ wide board with ease. Impressive, isn’t it?
Even when you bevel the blade to more than a 45-degree angle, you can still easily and accurately cut a 7’’ wide board. That makes it a much better and higher-quality saw than any other counterpart on the market.
What’s more, the double bevel blade also makes the miter saw one of a kind. This kind of blade means that you can tilt it to any angle you want. For that reason, the equipment proves itself a saw of great versatility.
So, with its remarkable blade and high capacity, this saw is perfect and well-worthy for professionals and DIY weekend enthusiasts. And the best time to use it is when framing houses or doing any renovation.
What Needs Improvement?
For so many benefits of the DeWalt’s miter saw, I decided to buy it. And much to my expectation, the saw did not let me down at any given time. It ran smoothly and effectively. But, there are two things I hope the manufacturer can improve.
The first thing is its weight, as I have mentioned. It is hard to take such a heavy tool everywhere, for the saw weighs 56 pounds. So it is not appropriate for hobbyists and beginner woodworkers like me. However, if you tackle heavy-duty tasks most of the time, this product is a godsent assistant at job sites.
The second thing is its price. If you don’t need a cordless and massive-captivity tool, this miter saw might be an unreasonable splurge.
DeWalt DHS790T2 alternatives
For the DeWalt’s saw is quite a heavy and high-priced tool to some people, Makita LS1219L and Bosch GCM12SD can be some of the best substitutes.
At a lower price than the Dewalt’s saw, Makita LS1219L can multi-angle bevel, from straight 0 degrees to 45 degrees. Also, the machine is highly resistant to rust, even though it is often used in wet conditions or any extreme weather. Thus, the product has a long service life.
The Bosch GCM12SD is a 12-inch Dual-Bevel Glide Miter Saw which can cut smoothly and accurately. Not just that, the saw offers a large cutting capacity and easy-access upfront controls.
