Differences Between Delta 26-2250 vs 26-2251

Delta Cruzer is a strong line of miter saw products with their unique features and designs. The first and second generation of Delta Cruzer 12″ miter saw are considered among the best products in the market. Are they different? Let’s find out through our breakdown.

Precision rate

A huge difference between Delta 26-2250 and Delta 26-2251 is the accuracy cut. Both products are equipped with dual-bevel features. The bevel can be tilted 47 degrees left and right with ten miter detents and multiple positive stops to give you full control of the cutting method.

However, the Delta 2nd generation (26-2251) improves its accuracy with the SHADOWLINE LED cut alignment system. With this smart feature, you can see where your cut will be on the wood to perform a solid cut. It is no doubt that the 2nd generation wins this round completely.

Materials and Designs

Both of these devices possess a standard Delta design for miter saw. They have the same dimension of 30″ x 26″ x 21.5″ and a weight of 57 pounds, compact and light enough for you to move it around easily.

They also use stainless steel and military -grade aluminum for their 12″ blades with a cutting capacity of 18 inches.

Therefore, in this design round, there is no winner as they are the same.

Power

Compared between the first and second generation, the manufacturer keeps their power the same to focus on enhancing other features. With a 4000RPM and 1800 wattage power, they can perform any heavy load tasks smoothly and efficiently.

As their powers are the same level, it is considered a draw for this round.

Blades

A 12 inches blade made of carbide with 60 teeth is Delta standard for this miter saw product line. Therefore, Delta ensures that users can get an enduring and resilient performance out of their products.

Additional Features

All Delta’s miter saws follow a safety rule strictly with a clear blade guard feature to clear the user’s vision and cover the blade.

The two devices also have handles designed for both right-handed and left-handed users. However, one new feature added to the second generation of Delta Cruzer to improve the safety during work is a safety trigger.

Instead of starting with just the engage button, the Delta 26-2251 requires you to press the safety trigger first and then the engage button. As the buttons are next to each other, the action takes you less than a second but ensures the highest safety for you.

The last time I reviewed Delta 26-2250, many users were not so happy with the dust port due to the small size. In the Delta 26-2251, the dust port is extended to gather more dust inside the dust bag. It is great to know that Delta’s staff is constantly receiving our feedback and improving their products.

Another feature that enhances the user’s experience in the Delta 26-2251 is the two support extension wings that come with the package. You can use them to add more support space and balance out a long piece of wood.

Undoubtedly, the Delta 26-2251 won this round with its smart features to improve the user’s experiences.

Packages

In the package, you can find in both devices a blade wrench, a work clamp, and a dust bag. However, Delta 26-2251 also includes two support extensions.
